DO Lay out the arrangement of the artwork on the floor before hanging it on the wall.
DON’T Hang artwork more than 6”-9” above furniture pieces.
This will allow your artwork to visually coordinate with your furniture pieces.

PROPER ART PLACEMENT
DO Unify a mixture of art themes by coordinating framing styles.
DON'T select artwork solely based on the colors in your room - select artwork you will LOVE to look at each and every day.
DO Use both functional and decorative window treatments.
Glass is the perfect conductor for heat. Insulation can be easily achieved by designing in window treatment layers. The first layer typically begins with blinds or window shades. Functional treatments such as Honeycomb shades and Wood Blinds are very stylish and also provide complete privacy and light control. The second layer is provided by decorative draperies and valances.
DON’T Emphasize windows of different heights or sizes.
Use draperies that are mounted at the same height and are the same length.
DO Add a simple, inexpensive valance treatment or cornice.
They will add color and texture to enhance the overall design scheme.
DON’T Match your pillow fabric to your drapery fabric.
If you have a favorite pattern on your pillows, select one of the dominant colors and use this as your inspiration for the room.
